Marketing analytics and attribution

Every marketing decision you make inherits the errors in your measurement layer. If the numbers are wrong, better strategy simply gets you to the wrong place faster, and more budget makes the mistake more expensive.

This is the work we insist on doing first, before touching a campaign. Not because it is the most interesting, but because roughly a third of the accounts we inherit are measuring something other than what they think they are measuring, and nobody downstream can tell.

What is usually wrong when we arrive

None of these announce themselves. The dashboard keeps producing numbers, which is exactly why they survive for years.

Duplicate and inflated conversions

The same event fires from a tag, a plugin and a platform pixel simultaneously. Reported conversions run well above reality, cost per acquisition looks flattering, and budget decisions are made against a number that does not exist.

Signal lost to browsers and consent

Browser restrictions, ad blockers and consent handling silently remove a large share of client side data. What remains is not a random sample, so the conclusions drawn from it are skewed rather than merely incomplete.

The CRM and the analytics never meet

Marketing reports on leads, sales reports on revenue, and nobody can join them. Which campaign produced paying customers, as distinct from enquiries, is unanswerable. Every budget argument then comes down to whoever is more confident.

Platforms marking their own homework

Google reports its own contribution, Meta reports its own, and the totals exceed actual sales. Each platform is telling the truth by its own rules, and those rules were not written for your P and L.

Reports nobody can act on

Dashboards full of sessions, impressions and engagement rate, none of which tells anyone what to do on Monday. Reporting exists to be presented rather than to drive a decision.

What we actually do

The objective is a single number everyone in the business agrees on, and a dashboard that answers the question rather than decorating it.

GA4 rebuild

Property and stream configuration, event and conversion design, filtering of internal and bot traffic, cross domain tracking, channel grouping corrected, and data retention set deliberately rather than left at default.

Server-side tagging

A server side container so measurement does not depend entirely on the browser. This recovers a substantial share of the signal lost to restrictions and ad blockers, and improves page performance as a side effect.

Consent mode and compliance

Consent implemented so it is both lawful and functional, with modelling configured to recover a defensible estimate of what consent removed. Done properly, compliance and measurement stop being in conflict.

CRM stitching

Analytics joined to your CRM so a lead can be followed through to closed won revenue and back to the campaign that produced it. This is the step that turns marketing reporting into business reporting.

Multi-touch attribution

A model built from your data and your sales cycle, not a platform default, that stops any single channel claiming the whole journey. Documented plainly enough to survive a board meeting.

Cohort and lifetime value reporting

What a customer is worth at month twelve, by acquisition source, so you can decide what to pay at month zero. Without this, every acquisition cost target is guesswork.

One live dashboard

Channel, campaign, creative and keyword down to contribution margin. Shared and always current, rather than a slide deck assembled once a month.

How the engagement runs

01 Measurement audit

A full review of tags, events, conversions, consent handling and reporting, with every fault quantified by the decisions it is distorting. Seven to ten days, free, yours to keep.

02 Rebuild

GA4, server-side tagging and consent implemented and validated. Nothing downstream begins until the numbers are trustworthy, because everything downstream inherits them.

03 Stitch and model

CRM connected, offline conversions flowing, attribution model built and agreed with sales and finance rather than imposed on them.

04 Dashboard and handover

Your live dashboard goes live within fourteen days of kickoff, with documentation and training so your team can run it without us.

What you get

A validated GA4 property with documented events, conversions and channel groupings, and a record of what was wrong before.

A server-side tagging container, owned by you, recovering signal that browser restrictions were removing.

Consent implemented lawfully with modelling configured, so compliance does not cost you your data.

CRM stitched to analytics, so closed revenue traces back to source.

A documented attribution model you can defend to a board or an investor, with its assumptions stated openly.

One live dashboard plus training and documentation, created under your ownership and yours permanently.

Who this is for

Worth doing when

You are spending enough on marketing that a wrong decision is expensive, or you are about to increase budget. Every rupee that follows a broken measurement layer inherits its errors and multiplies them.

Probably not yet when

You have almost no traffic and no spend. At very small volumes, simple conversion tracking is enough, and a full attribution build would be an expensive answer to a question you are not yet asking.

A common mistake

Buying more sophisticated reporting before fixing what feeds it. A multi-touch model built on duplicate conversions produces confident, well-designed nonsense, which is considerably worse than no model at all.

Questions we get about this

Almost always, yes. Installation is not configuration. The common faults are duplicate conversions, unfiltered internal traffic, broken cross domain tracking and consent misfires, none of which stop data appearing. The audit will tell you within ten days whether yours is sound.

It depends on your volume and margin. For low spend accounts the recovered signal may not justify it, and we will say so. For anything at scale, or anything with a long sales cycle, it usually pays for itself quickly.

It will put a proper consent mechanism and data handling configuration in place, which is the technical half. The legal half is your policies and your counsel. We work to what your legal advisers specify rather than substituting for them.

Your first attribution dashboard goes live within fourteen days of kickoff. Allow another two to four weeks of clean data collection before making significant budget decisions on it.

Usually not. We work with what you have wherever it supports the connection. If your current system genuinely cannot carry source data through to closed won, we will tell you plainly and give you the options rather than sell you a migration by default.

Find out what your numbers are hiding

The free audit reviews your tags, events, conversions and consent handling, and quantifies each fault by the decisions it is distorting. Ten days, no commitment.
